Rabbi Binyomin Terebelo is a rabbi, master distiller, researcher, and preservation specialist whose work bridges ancient tradition and modern craftsmanship. As founder of the Torah Scroll Institute, Rabbi Terebelo is dedicated to the evaluation, restoration, and preservation of sacred Torah scrolls, Nevi’im, Megillos, and Kesubim. His work focuses on the careful study of scribal traditions, manuscript authenticity, parchment preservation, and the safeguarding of historic Judaic artifacts for future generations.
Alongside his scholarly and restoration work, Rabbi Terebelo is also widely recognized in the spirits industry as a master distiller and founder of the Terebelo Distillery. Drawing upon generations of family distilling tradition dating back to Eastern Europe and Prohibition-era America, he has become known for producing distinctive bourbons and whiskeys aged through experimental sonic techniques, including classical music barrel aging. His innovative approach and handcrafted spirits have been featured in publications discussing modern artisanal whiskey production and kosher-certified distilling.
Rabbi Terebelo gained broader public recognition through his appearance on the Discovery Channel series Moonshiners: Master Distiller, where skilled distillers from across the country compete in traditional and innovative spirit-making challenges. His appearance highlighted the unusual combination of rabbinic scholarship, historic family distilling heritage, and modern craft distillation that has made his work distinctive within the industry.
In addition to his work in restoration and distilling, Rabbi Terebelo is involved in education, research, and technological innovation within the alcohol industry.
